Testing old robot software for new robot controller

Hello

The goal is to replace a old RH10AH controlled by a CR2A-572 Controller with a new Robot controlled by a CR800 with the same program/software.

My question is, does this work when I test it without the new robot, just with the CR800 controller?

What I did is, I restored the old CR2A-Backup in the CR800 in Simulation-Mode and then configurated the new robot in the workspace and openend a program and closed it and it has no errors (no syntax errors)
Does that mean the programm will run without any issues? or do I really need the robotarm aswell?
