Iconics Suite - Hiding elements by using secured layers

This article explains how to show/hide elements on the screen assigned to exact layer which is managed by security

GraphWorX64 - Create Layers

To hide some objects, you have to use the ‘Security Layers’. This is basically standard GraphWorX layers with some extended configuration.

First, add the Layer to the GraphWorX Display, give it some specific name and set the property ‘HideWhenSecurityDenied’ to true.

Put the objects which you want to hide from some users under the created layer.

Workbench - Configure security to hide layers

Then, the last thing is to configure it in the Workbench security configurator.

For the user that you want to hide elements on created layer - head into the File tab and in the Deny these operations add something from the options listed here:

All these options above represent the same thing – you are allowed to use wildcards.
The first one disables the user/group to see the content under SecuredLayer in the exact Display1 on the desktop.
The second row disables them to see content under SecuredLayer in any GraphWorX display named Display1.gdfx.
The third option will deny access to content under SecuredLayer in any display which would contain layer with such name.
