This article shows how to switch between different trends in one TrendWorX64 Viewer control in web browser versions of GraphWorX64 displays. This is an alternative to the TrendWorX64 Viewer tabs functionality which is unsupported in HTML5.
1. Tabs in desktop GraphWorX64 displays
In desktop GraphWorX64 displays multiple tabs can be created in one TrendWorX64 Viewer control, allowing the operators to quickly switch between multiple charts:
Unfortunately, this functionality is not supported in HTML5, so when a display using tabs is used by a web browser client, the tabs are not visible and only one chart is shown.
2. Solution for web clients - Load Trend Configuration command
In order to switch between charts on your web client, save the trend configuration for each tab in a separate .twxx file:
Give a unique name to your TrendWorX64 Viewer control:
Add buttons to your display with the Pick dynamic set to execute the Load Trend Configuration command with the file specified and your Viewer control name as target:
Relative paths can be used when all the trend configuration files are stored in the same directory as the display file. This can also be done in the AnyGlass folder, which makes trend switching possible for all web clients accessing the visualization without them downloading the files first.
A .gdfx file with a sample display and two trend configuration files are attached to this article.
